Virginia Democratic Rep. Elaine Luria, a retired naval commander, is leading efforts by a bipartisan group of lawmakers to fix a change in President Donald Trump’s tax law that unexpectedly stuck some families of fallen service members with higher tax bills in 2019.
The legislation introduced by Luria is looking to change the tax rate on survivor benefits designated to children.
