VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — Elaine Luria, Candidate for Congress released her next two commercials of the general election, “Commonwealth” and “Represent.” Both highlight the stark difference between how Luria will serve the people of the Second Congressional District and how current Representative Scott Taylor serves the district so voters can see the divergence of views and values.
“Commonwealth” is a 60 second contrast ad that highlights Luria’s experience as a Navy Commander, a small business owner in the community, and a mother as well as her dedication to working with both parties to change Washington. The ad then delves into Rep. Taylor’s allegiance to corporations over the health of his constituents and that he has become so swallowed by politics and winning reelection that his campaign forged signatures on election forms, including those of deceased residents.
“The choice that voters make in just seven days, will determine the future of our communities, our commonwealth, and our democracy,” said Luria. “I am running for Congress to make sure that the Second District has an independent leader in Washington who will listen and represent the needs of the constituents, not corporate interests, and not party leaders.”
The second ad, “Represent” echo’s Luria’s statement, and reiterates her commitment to protect Social Security and Medicare and access to health care across the district.
