VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Today, the Elaine for Congress campaign announced they will report over $1.1 million cash on hand for the second quarter of 2021, more than a year ahead of re-election. In the first six months of the year, Congresswoman Luria has raised over $1.3 million.
“We remain a campaign focused on the issues most important to Coastal Virginians,” said Congresswoman Elaine Luria. “I am committed to expanding access to affordable, quality health care, ensuring benefits for our veterans, service members, and their families, and helping local businesses climb out of the pandemic. As Republicans continue to oppose efforts to rebuild our economy, vote against funding our police and our National Guard, and provide cover for insurrectionists, I will be an independent voice for my constituents.”
Congresswoman Luria will also report having raised over $720k this quarter. With 7392 total individual donors and 80% of donors contributing $50 or less, her campaign is bolstered by grassroots supporters.
Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes all of Accomack and Northampton Counties, the cities of Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, as well as portions of Norfolk City, Hampton, and York and James City Counties. Congresswoman Luria serves as the Vice Chair on the House Armed Services Committee as well as on the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and Readiness Subcommittee, the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Homeland Security. In 2020, Congresswoman Luria was elected to a second term. Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District has been added to the DCCC’s Frontline program for 2022.
