VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Today, Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s campaign announced that she raised over $620,000 in her campaign’s fourth quarter fundraising period, bringing her total raised for the cycle to over $2 million with more than $1.5 million cash on hand.
Elaine’s campaign is fueled by grassroots support, with over 7,000 individuals supporting her re-election effort. This total includes no contributions from corporate PACs and 75% of donations were under $15.
“After a tremendous first year in office helping Coastal Virginians, I am humbled by the outpouring of support for my reelection,” said Representative Elaine Luria. “I look forward to coming back to Congress in 2021 to continue communicating my vision for the future of this district and our communities.”
In addition to raising for her own re-election, Congresswoman Elaine Luria founded Defense Dem PAC in order to contribute $228,000— the same amount National Republicans spent on misleading attacks in her district— to help flip Virginia’s General Assembly blue with support from over 600 individual donors. On November 6, 2019, voters across the Commonwealth elected Democratic majorities in both the House of Delegates and Senate.
Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes all of Accomack and Northampton Counties, the cities of Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, as well as portions of Norfolk City, Hampton, and York and James City Counties. In 2018, Elaine Luria flipped VA-02 from a Republican incumbent and is a current Frontline incumbent.
