VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Yesterday, 314 Action announced their endorsement of Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s re-election. 314 Action is the leading pro-science advocacy group working to elect more STEM candidates to office. They have also endorsed Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06), Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-08), and Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) in yesterday’s round of endorsements in competitive districts.

First elected in 2018, Congresswoman Elaine Luria served 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and nuclear engineer. Elected to a second term in 2020, Congresswoman Luria is a top target for National Republicans in 2022.
Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes all of Accomack and Northampton Counties, the cities of Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, as well as portions of Norfolk City, Hampton, and York and James City Counties. Congresswoman Luria serves as the Vice Chair on the House Armed Services Committee as well as on the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Homeland Security. In 2020, Congresswoman Luria was elected to a second term. Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District has been added to the DCCC’s Frontline program for 2022.
